"Fast & Furious 7" Wraps with Tributes to Paul Walker
(LOS ANGELES) -- Michelle Rodriguez was among those paying tribute to the late Paul Walker on the final day of shooting Fast & Furious 7.
Posting a photo Thursday on Instagram of her and co-star Vin Diesel, Rodriguez wrote, “Ride or Die through thick and thin 15 yrs later surreal to think we made it through such a tough painful production. But this ones for you P I hope we make you proud love you.”
Rodriguez also posted a more celebratory shot of the cast and crew, writing, “Final day on FF7 an emotional roller coaster but we’ve wrapped most of principle photography one love to all those who stuck it through with respect.”
Rodriguez, Diesel and Walker, along with Jordana Brewster, have been part of the Fast franchise since the very first film 13 years ago.
The seventh installment was originally scheduled for release this week. But Walker’s death in a fiery car crash last Nov. 30 put a halt to production. With the help of visual effects and Walker’s brothers Caleb and Cody, filmmakers were able to complete the film, which has a new release date of April 3, 2015.
Universal’s Fast & Furious Facebook page also paid tribute to Walker while thanking fans for their support during the tumultuous production.
“Our family is big and strong but it won’t ever quite be whole again without Paul,” the post said. “All of us -- those who’ve been here from the start and those whose first FAST film is 7 -- wanted to create a special film for him and for you. We believe we have.”
