Brit TV Staple "Doctor Who" Turns 50
(LONDON) -- British television show Doctor Who, which follows the adventures of a time and space traveling alien, will celebrate its 50th year with a massive special Saturday night on BBC America.
At least two of the 11 actors who played the titular doctor over the last 50 years will be appearing in the special and the legendary John Hurt will be guest starring as a mysterious-grizzled version of the usually good-guy doctor.
With 50 years of history behind it and an anything can happen attitude from the show's current producers, fans may want the tissues or the smelling salts handy.
