Hundreds Protest Outside ABC over Jimmy Kimmel Sketch

ABC/Randy Holmes(BURBANK, Calif.) -- Jimmy Kimmel and ABC's apologies for a recent sketch on his late-night show in which a child joked that the U.S. should "kill everyone in China" has not quelled the controversy.

The Burbank Leader reports approximately 1,500 people protested peacefully Saturday outside of ABC's headquarters in Burbank, Calif., in response to the sketch.  Similar protests were planned in other cities.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! received backlash from a pan-Asian-American political organization following the sketch that aired on the show on Oct. 16.  The segment featured children discussing the U.S. debt, with one suggesting that the nation should "kill everyone in China" to solve the problem.

ABC and Kimmel subsequently issued apologies.
