Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker Invited to Join Motion Picture Academy
(LOS ANGELES) -- Jason Bateman, Chris Tucker and Rosario Dawson are among the actors who have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. If they accept the invitation, they will have the power to vote each year on who gets to take home an Oscar.
Lena Dunham was also among the 276 invitees, as a writer for her Nobody Walks and Tiny Furniture scripts. She joins other actors -- including Kimberly Elise, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu and Oscar nominee Emmanuelle Riva -- to receive the invitation.
"These individuals are among the best filmmakers working in the industry today," Academy President Hawk Koch said in a statement. "Their talent and creativity have captured the imagination of audiences worldwide, and I am proud to welcome each of them to the Academy."
The 86th annual Academy Awards will air Sunday, March 2, 2014.
