Taylor Swift to Embark on Australian and New Zealand Tour
(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) -- Seven-time Grammy winner Taylor Swift announced Wednesday that she would be taking her tour to Australia and New Zealand, becoming the first solo female artist to headline stadiums across Australia in 20 years.
Swift’s The RED Tour currently has 66 shows in North America. A press release explained that she would be traveling Down Under in response to strong fan demand.
The tour, which features elaborate stages, costumes and set pieces, has Swift singing songs from her most recent RED album, as well as other fan-favorites.
Swift will play in Auckland, New Zealand first on November 29, and then head to Australia, where she will perform in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.
The last solo female act to go on a national stadium tour in Australia was Madonna’s Girlie Show Tour back in 1993.
Swift can next be seen performing live on an ABC telecast from Las Vegas on May 19, and she will guest star on the finale of Fox’s New Girl on May 14.
