Tom Bergeron Returns as Host of "A Capitol Fourth"
(WASHINGTON) -- Dancing with the Stars host Tom Bergeron will be spending his Fourth of July in Washington, D.C. He will emcee the PBS special A Capitol Fourth for the third time.
Bergeron says the event will be one of the highlights of his summer. He tells ABC News Radio he anticipates the moment when he walks onto the stage on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol and sees the thousands of people who turned out for "this ultimate bipartisan birthday party."
He also can't wait to take in performances by Frankie Valli, Patti LaBelle, and the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by composer John Williams. Noting that the Muppets will make an appearance, too, Bergeron quips, "It's a multi-species lineup."
Despite all that star power, Bergeron acknowledges that those who will be in attendance, as well as the viewers at home, are most looking forward to the "most massive fireworks display in the country."
A Capitol Fourth will air live on PBS at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
