Ariz. Woman Accused of Injecting Feces into Husband's IV
(CHANDLER, Ariz.) -- An Arizona woman is accused of trying to kill her husband by tampering with his IV.
Phillip Vogel, 66, was recovering from heart surgery at Chandler Regional Hospital when police say his wife, Rosemary Vogel, was caught tampering with his IV. She is accused of injecting feces into the IV line with the goal of killing her husband.
Police say a search of her purse revealed syringes with fluid in them, and at least one tested positive for fecal matter.
Rosemary Vogel is a former nurse at the hospital, and is now facing attempted first degree murder charges.
Her husband is expected to survive.
