The theme of the 87th annual Centralia Halloween Parade was "Dreams Come True", and dreams did indeed come true for Parade Organizers, with clear skies and brisk 40 degree temperatures creating near perfect marching conditions for the over 100 floats, bands, and commercial and community organizations that took place in the annual parade.

Parade Chairman Butch Mathus said the parade turned out better than he expected.   "Dreams do come true.  Two weeks ago I had 67 entries and I thought I would never get past 80.  But by golly. Dreams Did Come True," said Mathus.  "We had over 126 entries, 26 floats and 11 bands."

A panel of judges rated parade entrants in several category. Taking the prized Harley Queen trophy for best overall was the entry by Salem Township Hospital, and their Cinderella-themed Entry. Salem Township Hospital's Human Resources director, Diane Boswell was in charge of preparations.  "Well we came up with the idea to try and enter it into the Salem parade as well.  There was nothing else that made sense other than Cinderella.  Once we came up with that idea, we have some good committees at the hospital who put it all together," said Boswell.

Bond County High School Marching Band took first in the high school marching band category, the Sandoval Junior-Senior High Band won the combined Junior-Senior High Band Division and Salem's Franklin Park Middle School took first in the Grade School Division.
