Both Drivers Injured in Two Vehicle Crash in CentraliaCentralia Police say both drivers were injured in a two car wreck at the Wabash and Poplar Street intersection on the south side of Centralia Tuesday night.
Police report a pickup truck driven by 48-year-old Brian Potts of Medlin Street in Centralia pulled from the stop sign on Wabash Avenue into the path of a northbound SUV on Poplar Street driven by 40-year-old William Thomas of North Poplar in Centralia.
Both drivers were initially taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. Potts was later airlifted to St. Louis University Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Potts was ticketed for driving under the influence of drugs, operation of an uninsured vehicle and disobeying a traffic control device. Thomas was ticketed for no valid license and no insurance.
The crash occurred at 9:44 Tuesday night.
