Cause of Fire at Citation Oil UnclearSalem Firemen were quickly able to extinguish a fire Monday night in a tank battery at the main Citation Oil and Gas building on Selmaville Road.
Firemen say the fire was in a tank processing natural gas from the oilfields. It is not clear what set off the blaze. Firemen say Citation workers were able to turn valves to shutdown the tank which helped snuff out the flames. Firemen then quickly put out the remaining fire and cooled the tank.
The fire call came in at eight Monday night.
