Centralia Man Faces Home Invasion and Unlawful Restraint ChargesBond has been set at $250,000 for a 20-year-old Centralia man who was formally charged in Marion County Court on Friday with unlawful restraint and two counts of home invasion.
Briton McCray of Cormick Street is accused of detaining Shyanna Steward at her home and refusing to let her leave. He's also charged in two counts of home invasion in connection with the same July 3rd incident.
One of the home invasion charges accuses McCray of striking Steward in the head with his hand, while the other accuses McCray of entering Steward's home while armed with a knife and threatening to use force.
Central City Police say McCray had gone to Steward's home and after he was not allowed inside, crawled through a window.
Public Defender Matt Chancey was appointed to represent McCray. A preliminary hearing will be held on July 22nd at 10:30 am.
