Death of Four Month Old Baby Under InvestigationAn investigation is underway into the cause of death of a four month old baby boy who was found dead around noon Wednesday in his parents room at the Midtown Motel on North Elm Street in Centralia.
Marion County Coroner Troy Cannon does not suspect any foul play in the death of Tristan Pearson. He is the son of Amber Sloat and Trenton Pearson.
Cannon says the boy had been sleeping and could not be woke up around noon Tuesday. Cannon pronounced him dead on the scene.
The coroner says to eliminate any concerns, the Southern Illinois Child Death Task Force will look further into the case. An autopsy will be conducted on Friday in Bloomington to try and determine the cause of death.
Cannon said the boy had been ill with what appeared to be a cold at the time of his death.
