Fairfield Man Will Spend Four Years in Prison for Weapon Theft

By Rob Sussman, WJBD News

A Fairfield man will spend the next four years in a Federal prison after pleading guilty to a charge of possessing four stolen firearms. Evidence showed that 29 year old Chance W. Young broke into a rural Wayne County home in late July 2013 and stole a number of items, including three shotguns and one rifle. Two of the guns were sold and later recovered by law enforcement agencies, the other two are still missing.

In addition to the 48 month prison sentence, Young was ordered to pay fines totalling $350 and will be placed on two years of supervised release following his incarceration.

Young has been held without bond since his arrest last year. He pled guilty on November 15th.
