Iuka Woman Hurt in Weather Related Accident
A 26-year-old Iuka woman was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of apparent minor injuries following a one car accident blamed on slick road conditions Thursday afternoon. Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say Ellen Neff of Iuka Road was traveling southbound on the Iuka Road when her car spun around and ran off the pavement nose down in the roadside ditch. She was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries.The sheriff's department was called to several other accidents where vehicles ran off the road, but they did not involve any injuries. Salem Firemen were called to a semi that had overturned on its side in the median of Interstate 57 three miles north of Salem. The truck lost control due to slick road conditions. Firemen handled a small diesel leak from the truck.
