Keep Salem Beautiful Announces April Events

By Rob Sussman, WJBD News

Keep Salem Beautiful has a busy April month ahead of them. The first full month of Spring brings several events to the town, including the annual clean up of Bryan memorial park.

Among the activities planned for KSB will be helping elderly Salem residents with light yardwork all this month through the Neighbor to Neighbor cleanup campaign, cleaning up the City's business district during the week of April 7th through 12th, and picking up the interstate on April 12th.

The activities culminate in the annual cleanup of Bryan Memorial park, scheduled for Saturday, April 26th at 9:00 am. Keep Salem Beautiful has been organizing the cleanup for over 20 years.

"This is something we started several years ago, and it seemed to work. it bring's everyone from the community out, we all clean up, and we;re just really proud of Salem and what it represents" said KSB president Rita Black.

Anyone interested in helping with the cleanup should meet up at the Band Stage Shelter for assignments and to get garbage bags and rubber gloves. Those interesting in helping with the interstate cleanup should meet at the Pizza Hut parking lot at 9:00 am on April 12th.

If you or someone you know needs help with yard work or general cleaning duties, contact Rita Black at 548-0215.
