Man Suspected in Neb. Killings Jailed in Ill.MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (AP) - An Indiana doctor remains jailed without bond in southern Illinois on suspicion of involvement in the killings of three adults and an 11-year-old boy in Nebraska.
Authorities say 40-year-old Dr. Anthony Garcia of Terre Haute, Ind., was arrested Monday during a traffic stop in Illinois' Union County, some 100 miles southeast of St. Louis.
He's being held in neighboring Jackson County on suspicion of four Nebraska counts of first-degree murder and four counts of using a weapon to commit a felony.
Omaha's police chief says Garcia appeared to be intoxicated and had a .45-caliber handgun when he was arrested by Illinois State Police.
State police directed questions Tuesday to Omaha police.
It's unclear if Garcia has an Illinois attorney or when he was to appear in court in Union County.
