The Marion County 4-H organization has honored Harry Braddock of Patoka as this year's Friend of 4H.  The award was one of many handed out to supporters and members of the 4H during their annual awards program held over the weekend.

Marilyn Thompson of the 4-H organization says Braddock has been a long time supporter of the organization.  "Mr. Braddock was a 13 year leader of the Patoka Panthers.  He was instrumental in helping get the food stand for the Antique Power Days consignment auction together.  He was always supportive and had a can do attitude with the kids as far as getting things done," said Thompson.

Jonathan McConnaughhay of Iuka was named the Outstanding 4-H member of the year.  "Jonathan is instrumental in offering to help with things that we have going on, weather its 4-H or office related.  You might find him in the extension office helping to put the monthly newsletter together. He is now the Marion County 4-H Federation President," said Thompson.

Bret and Janessa Vandeveer of Iuka were named as Adult Alumni of the Year.  Six 4-H members who have completed all 11 years of the program were also recognized.  They are Kane Austin, Bradley Braddock, Austin Geiler, Maycey Hammond, Tyler Pokojski and Brooke Vandeveer.
