Marion County Sheriff's Department Investigates Scam and Theft

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating a scam that took a rural Centralia woman for $1,872.  The woman received a call that her grandson was in jail.  She was told he needed $3,000 in bond money.  While she refused to give the full amount, she did sent $1,872.   Sheriff's Deputies are trying to track down those responsible.

The Sheriff's Department is also investigating the theft of three rings and a watch from a living room table at the Tanna Boxx residence on McDaneld Road in Kell.  Boxx reported the theft occurred between June 15th and 20th.
