Mt. Vernon Drug Crackdown Nets TenThe Mt. Vernon Police Department began an extensive crackdown on drug related activity today as ten were arrested for various drug related offenses. The arrests are a culmination of eight months of investigative work by the MVPD/JCSO Narcotics Division.
Among the arrested are 53 year old Betty Henry, 25 year old Silvia Kibler, 32 year old Phillip Johnson, 58 year old Brenda Anderson, 56 year old Sherry Brown, and 32 year Ryan Pigg, all of Mt. Vernon, who were arrested for unlawful delivery of a controlled substance. Two were arrested for possession of a controlled substance including 44 year old Monty Hamson and 40 year old Denise Houston, both of Mt. Vernon. Two more were arrested for unlawful purchase of a meth precursor, including 42 year old Arthur Highfill of Mt. Vernon and 39 year old Brian Fear of Dix.
The department is actively seeking 15 more on various drug related warrants.
