One Arrested, Two Hurt in Wreck Northwest of CentraliaTwo people were injured and the driver arrested when a pickup truck crashed near the intersection of Linn and Gary Street just northwest of Centralia.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say the truck driven by 30-year-old Travis Pitchford of Fairway Drive in Centralia ended up on its side. Pitchford was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He remained in the Marion County Jail Sunday morning.
Two passengers, 16-year-old Jessica Smith and 14-year-old Scottie Smith, were taken to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of injuries.
Deputies say Pitchford initially denied being the driver, but statements from a witness and one of the passengers indicated he was allegedly behind the wheel when the crash occurred at 7:28 Saturday night.
