Police Beat for Sunday, August 15th, 2013
A 19-year-old Iuka man remains in custody for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. Austin Hawley of Kirby Road was arrested by Marion County Sheriff's Deputies.
A 43-year-old Sandoval man was arrested by Sandoval Police for alleged driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of liquor. Martin Phillips of West Missouri Avenue posted bond and was released.
32-year-old John Kelly of North Main in Sandoval posted $150 bond after being arrested by Sandoval Police on an Effingham County attachment for contempt.
30-year-old James Wolfe of Mt. Carmel turned himself in on a Marion County ordinance violation warrant. He was released after posted $200 bond.
38-year-old Betty Ann Pashea of East Knox in Mt. Vernon posted $150 bond and was released after being arrested by Salem Police for driving on a suspended license.
The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating the theft of a log splitter from a field owned by Cary Henken on Bilek Road in Alma. Henken says it is orange and the baseplate has been modified to make it larger with thicker steel and is easily identified. He is offering a $200 reward for its return and another $200 if there is a conviction for the theft.
