SIU President Glenn Poshard Announces RetirementCARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) - Southern Illinois University President Glenn Poshard says he's retiring.
WSIU radio reports that Poshard said Thursday that he will retire after the upcoming school year on June 30, 2014. His contract runs into 2015. He received a four-year contract extension four years ago. Poshard has led the university since 2005. In recent years he has faced a rift with trustee Roger Herrin.
The school's board of trustees is on retreat this week at a facility near Carbondale. Thursday's board agenda included Poshard's contract.
