Salem Business To CloseA long-time Salem business will soon be closing its doors.
Sam and Sally Lay say Salem Flowers will close next month. They site the changing economy of the floral industry for their decision.
The two purchased the business just about two years ago after the doors were closed by longtime owners Jim and Maxine Todd. Salem Flowers has operated in Salem for about 85 years.
The business will stop fresh flower merchandise as of June 1st, but will remain open to sell down inventory at a discounted price. The Lay's say they would entertain the option of selling the business. Anyone interested can contact them at Salem Flowers at 548-1300.
