Salem Elementary School Board Hires Three New Teachers

The Salem Elementary School Board hired three new teachers in a board meeting on Monday. 

The board met in a closed session to discuss the new hires for nearly two hours. Stacy Shields was hired as the new 5th Grade Teacher at Franklin Park, with Danielle Cooper joining the staff at Hawthorn school as a Kindergarten Teacher and Jolissa Lybarger as a 1st grade teacher. The board will discuss other potential candidates for open positions in a public meeting scheduled for August 20th.

Also hired were several volunteer coaches including Jeff Malone and TJ Alberson as volunteer baseball coaches, Amanda Brown and Brian Crompton as volunteer softball coaches, Susie Warman as cross country coach and Stacy Shields as assistant cross country coach.

The board also discussed and approved an updated safety plan for the district as well as discussed tentative plans for the budget for fiscal year 2014.
