Salem Township Hospital Golf Gala Raises $30,600The Salem Township Hospital Foundation Golf Gala on Friday raised an estimated $30,600.
The 14th annual event is sponsored yearly by Salem-Flora Radiology. Since the start, it has now raised $291,000 for various hospital improvement projects.
Foundation President Barney Bruce says the foundation is currently raising money to pay for the cost to furnish the all new private patient wings currently under construction. "We had 37 teams entered this year and had a record number of hole sponsors at 124," said Bruce. He reports $300,000 has been donated to the room furbishing project so far, with that amount expected to reach a half-million dollars.
Golf Gala Chair and Hospital Foundation Member Chariya Tawjareon says most of the teams donated back their prize money, resulting in a larger amount of money being made.
