Salem Woman Arrested for Allegedly Stabbing Ex-Husband

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

A 27-year-old Salem woman has been arrested for aggravated domestic battery after allegedly stabbing her ex-husband.

Brittany Smith, also known as Brittany Dulaney, is accused of stabbing Michael Dulaney in the abdomen with a butcher knife.  The incident occurred at his residence in Salem Mobile Home Park early Friday morning.

Dulaney did not require hospital treatment for his injuries. He didn't report the incident to Salem Police until late Friday afternoon.

Smith was located at a friend's home in Williamson Mobile Home Park south of Salem late Saturday morning by Marion County Sheriff's Deputies and taken into custody.  After questioning by Salem Police, she was taken to the Marion County Jail.

Salem Police say Michael Dulaney's injuries were minimized because he was wearing thick clothing at the time.  However, Police say the wounds were still visible.

The two were reportedly in a verbal argument when the stabbing incident occurred.
