State Sentator McCarter Bringing Children's Safety Expo to Centralia

By Rob Sussman, WJBD News

State Senator Kyle McCarter (R-Lebanon) will be sponsoring the Children's Safety Expo in Centralia on Saturday, September 14th. The event is highlighted by safety demonstrations and fun activities for the whole family.

Area first responders, education and youth groups, health-related groups and local and state agencies will be on hand at the BCMW Head Start Center, 909 East Rexford Street from 9am to Noon. The Centralia K-9 Unit will perform as well as the Studio 50 Gym and Dance Center. There is also a "Touch-a-Truck" event with Police Cars, Fire Trucks, Ambulances, Tow Trucks, and other vehicles--giving kids a chance to see them up close.

No pre-registration is required but children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information about the expo, contact Sen. McCarter's district office at 618-282-3000.
