Tri County Electric Holds Annual Meeting SaturdayTri- County Electric Cooperative will unveil the 'Smart Hub' app at its annual meeting Saturday morning.
General Manager Marcia Scott says the app that can be used on both a mobile device and personal computer will provide considerable data and assistance. "What your daily electrical usage is, your monthly electrical usage. You can pay your bill easily and you can also report an outage from this app without having to make a phone call," said Scott.
Scott hopes reporting an outage will be much easier and will do away with busy signals during larger outages.
Scott says members will also receive an update on proposed EPA changes that would phase out coal powered power plants and the impact the changes could have on electric rates.
The annual meeting will be held at the main office of Tri-County Electric at 3906 Broadway in Mt. Vernon. It begins with registration, patronage check distribution for members who received service in 1986 and 1987, exhibits, and a free breakfast at 7:30 Saturday morning. A live line demonstration is planned at 8:45 and the children's activity area will be open from nine to ten am. Breakfast will conclude at 9:30. The business meeting and election of officers begins at ten and will last about an hour. The children's activity area will then reopen from 11 to noon. Lunch will be served at 11:30.
