Two Being Held In Sexual Assault Case Released Pending Further Investigation

By Bruce Kropp, WJBD News

Two people arrested by Centralia Police for alleged criminal sexual assault and unlawful restraint has been released from the Marion County Jail pending further police investigation.  The announcement was made Friday afternoon by Marion County Assistant State's Attorney Melissa Doran.

31-year-old Jason Starks of North Maple and 23-year-old Donald Nunn of Hickory Ridge are accused of forcing a 17-year-old Centralia woman to commit sexual acts while refusing to let her leave Nunn's apartment last Sunday.  The alleged victim had been with others outside the apartment before going inside by herself to get her keys.

Doran reports Centralia Police are still working to gather more information in the case.
