Two Hurt in Crash at Route 161 and Schwartz RoadTwo people were injured Friday night in a two vehicle crash on Route 161 East of Centralia at the Schwartz Road intersection.
Marion County Sheriff's Deputies say 63-year-old Patricia Thomas of Schwartz Road was stopped on Route 161 waiting to make a left turn onto Schwartz Road. Her car was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by 15-year-old Benjamin Alli of Hoots Chapel Road in Salem.
Alli was driving on a learners permit. His passenger, 42-year-old Emily Alli of Hoots Chapel Road in Salem, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia for treatment of injuries. Thomas complained of injuries, but declined hospital treatment.
Benjamin Alli was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 8:22 Friday night.
