Two Zeigler-Royalton Students Arrested For Making Bomb ThreatTwo Zeigler-Royalton High School students have been arrested for a bomb threat made at the school on Friday. The Franklin County State's Attorney's Office says formal charges are pending against 17-year-old Darrell Dalton of Royalton and 17-year-old Zachary Barnett of Christopher. The two sophomores are tentatively being held in the Franklin County Jail for felony disorderly conduct. After the bomb threat was received, Ziegler-Royalton High School was searched by a canine from the Secretary of State Police. No bomb was found. Students were taken out of the school building until the search was completed.
The bomb threat comes a day after a note was found on a teacher's desk at Franklin Park School in Salem saying there was a bomb in the school. School was dismissed for the day Thursday while police and the Secretary of State canine searched the school. Salem Police Chief Ron Campo called the bomb threat a very bad prank that could lead to felony charges against the person responsible. He reported Thursday afternoon police had some leads but had not yet questioned any suspects. School resumed at Franklin Park on Friday without any incidents.
