Blue Angels Top SWIC in Four SetsThe Kaskaskia College volleyball team earned a four-set win over Southwestern Illinois College at the Blue Angels' "Dig for a Cure" Night in Centralia.br>
KC jumped out to a fast start, posting a 25-16 win in the first set. The Blue Storm answered back with a tightly contested 23-25 win in the second set. But the Blue Angels were undeterred, and dominated the third set 25-13. Another close battle in the fourth and final set went the way of the home team, as KC pulled out the 26-24 win.
Kylie Lowry led the Blue Angels with thirteen kills. Alexia Koerkenmeier finished with ten. Chelsea Crocker led three KC players in double figures in digs, as the Mater Dei product had fourteen. Bree Whittingham and Allison Kile both added eleven. Alicia Hallemann paced the team with thirty assists.
The Blue Angels return to action Friday at Mineral Area Community College in Missouri.
