Centralia and Mt. Vernon Bow Out of Mascoutah Girls TournamentThe Centralia Orphan Annies has bowed out of the Mascoutah Girls Tournament. O'Fallon came from behind to trip up the Annies 49 to 47. Centralia led 45 to 42 with just over two minutes left in the contest, when O'Fallon went on a 7-2 run. Centralia had advanced in the consolation bracket earlier in the day with 63 to 29 win over Northwest Academy.
The Mt. Vernon Lady Rams also bowed out of the tournament with a 43-40 loss to Freeburg. O'Fallon dropped Trenton Wesclin from the tournament with a 61 to 44 win.
The semi-finals for the championship of the Mascoutah Tournament will feature Breese Central against Breese Mater Dei at 11:30 Saturday morning and Belleville West against Nashville at one Saturday afternoon. Nashville advanced to the championship semi-finals by defeating Mascoutah 54 to 30, Breese Central topped Highland 59 to 33, Mater Dei beat Belleville East 39 to 24, and Belleville West topped Carbondale 60 to 50.
