Centralia and Odin End Thanksgiving Tournaments 4-0

The Centralia Orphans open the season by winning all four of the games in their own Thanksgiving Tournament.  Centralia completed their sweep with a 52 to 45 win over Mahomet-Seymour on Saturday.  Jake Wood led Centralia with 19 points.  Chase Alcorn had 14 and Jerod Simmons-Young added ten.  In other Saturday action, Belleville East beat Jerseyville 41 to 36, Jerseyville beat Mascoutah 47-43 and Mahomet-Seymour topped Mascoutah 54 to 42.  

The Odin Eagles open the season with a perfect 4-0 record as they win the Mulberry Grove Tournament.  Odin beat Sandoval 99 to 83 on Saturday to come out of the tournament with a perfect record.  Odin was led by Chase Horton with 26 points, Dustin Quick with 18 points, Austin Perkins with 16 and Gavin Wood with 11.  Sandoval got 30 points from Garren Orrell.  Wade Wilbur added 11 and Matthew Kibler and Brad Meskil ten apiece.   In other action at Mulberry Grove, Patoka downed Cowden-Herrick 58 to 49 and Ramsey beat Mulberry Grove 63 to 55.   

At the Metro-East Tournament, Christ Our Rock edged out a 51 to 50 win over Valmeyer to claim 7th place.  

At the St. Anthony's Tournament, Belleville Altoff took first place with a 67 to 57 win over Mattoon.  Effingham won the third place game over Breese Central 59 to 49, Mt. Zion took fifth win a 61 to 39 win over St. Anthony and Robinson claimed seventh place with a 53 to 37 win over Charleston.  

At the Waterloo Tournament, Edwardsville topped Breese Mater Dei 67 to 37 and Highland topped Waterloo 36 to 34.  

At the Lawrence County Capital Classic, Mt Carmel won the championship by beating Olney 61 to 30.  Fairfield picked up third place with a 54 to 40 win over Pinckneyville, Teutopolis won fifth place by beating Lawrenceville 68 to 55.  Marshall claimed seventh place with a 56 to 54 win over Red Hill.  

At the Christopher Thanksgiving Tournament, Christopher won their own tourney with a 59 to 52 win over Zeigler-Royalton. Cobden took third with a 46 to 36 win over Thompsonville, Wayne City won the consolation bracket with a 41 to 36 win over Waltonville, and Egyptian took second with a 54 to 49 win over Webber.

At the Lebanon Tournament, Nashville beat Lebanon 51 to 46, Madison took Wesclin 85 to 54, Colum bia downed Piasa Southwestern 50 to 42 and Madison College Prep downed Freeburg 66 to 64.    

In other boys basketball games, Trinity, Texas topped O'Fallon 59 to 55 in overtime and West Frankfort beat Benton 54 to 38.  

At the Nashville Girls Tournament, Nashville won the tourney with a 45 to 38 win over Massac County, Mascoutah took third with a 46 to 39 win over Collinsville, Mt. Vernon claimed fifth place with a 48 to 20 win over St. Jacob Triad and Freeburg beat Okawville 38 to 22 for seventh place.
