Cougars Dominate St. Elmo in Semifinal

The South

Central Cougars will play for a regional title Saturday afternoon after

crushing St. Elmo 12-0 in five innings Thursday.

The Cougars

posted ten runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the game away as power

hitting played a large part in the win. Kyle Bray and Austin Schwarm had solo

home runs in the second inning to put the South Central up 2-0. Noah Powless

had a three-run blast in the fourth inning. Bray and Powless each had three

RBIs. Dylan Smith drove in two.

Shawn Meyer

earned the win, pitching four innings of shutout, one-hit baseball. Meyer

walked three and struck out four.

South

Central will face top-seeded Altamont, who defeated Patoka on Wednesday.
