Cougars Score Nine in Fifth to Win Big

The South Central Cougars exploded for nine runs in the

bottom of the fifth inning, making it an early night with an 11-0 win over

Windsor Stew-Stras, the same team that bumped off South Central in the

Sectional Championship last Spring.

Leading 2-0 after the third, the Cougars batted

around the lineup, capped off by Tyler Ross’ three-run homerun that

ended the game. Ross went 2-4 on the night and finished with four runs batted

in. Kyle Bray drove in three runs while going 3-3 at the plate, including a

double. Tyus Holmes went 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.

Dylan Peters gave up just four hits while striking out seven

in a complete game effort.

The Cougars are 1-1 and travel to Dieterich on Tuesday.
