Cougars Score Nine in Fifth to Win BigThe South Central Cougars exploded for nine runs in the
bottom of the fifth inning, making it an early night with an 11-0 win over
Windsor Stew-Stras, the same team that bumped off South Central in the
Sectional Championship last Spring.
Leading 2-0 after the third, the Cougars batted
around the lineup, capped off by Tyler Ross’ three-run homerun that
ended the game. Ross went 2-4 on the night and finished with four runs batted
in. Kyle Bray drove in three runs while going 3-3 at the plate, including a
double. Tyus Holmes went 2-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Dylan Peters gave up just four hits while striking out seven
in a complete game effort.
The Cougars are 1-1 and travel to Dieterich on Tuesday.
