Illinois Punter Receives POW HonorsCHICAGO (AP) - Illinois punter Justin DuVernois is the Big Ten special teams player of the week.
The conference on Monday honored DuVernois for his 45.2-yards-per-punt average on Saturday against Washington.
The junior also had three punts that landed inside the Huskies' 20-yard line in Illinois' 34-24 loss. Two of those were inside the 10.
The award is DuVernois' first Big Ten honor.
