Salem Cross Country Competes at OlneyThe Salem Lady Wildcat cross country team took eleventh place out of sixteen full teams and sixth out of 1A schools at the Olney Invitational Saturday.
Three freshmen continue to lead the Lady Cat runners, as Christian Daniels paced the squad with a 35th-place finish. Her time of 22:36 was just ahead of teammate Emily Daniels' 22:47, as the latter Daniels finished 37th. Cassie Bailey turned in a top-50 performance with her time of 23:33. Junior Esther Schwanemann was 59th in 24:22.
Junior Brenner Webster continues to lead the Wildcats, who finished seventh out of 22 teams at Olney.
Webster finished in the top ten, checking in at sixth place out of 145 runners with a time of 17:34. Freshman Caden Owens rounded out the top ten with a time of 17:50. Another freshman, Blake Quandt, finished 34th with a time of 18:39. Kyle Rogers and Caleb Williams scored for the Wildcats, with 60th- and 88th-place, respectively.
Both teams run at the Lawrenceville Invitational on Saturday.
