Salem Girls Second in Match PlayThe Salem Community High School golf teams hosted a match play tournament Saturday at Salem Country Club.
The Lady Wildcats took second place behind a tough squad from Nashville. Megan Gallatin finished second in her group behind Lady Hornet Shawn Rennegarbe, who is committed to play golf at the University of Arkansas next year. Gallatin won three skins compared to Rennegarbe's five. Morgan Thompson and Emily Baer tied for third in their respective groups, winning one skin each. Mallory Daniels won two holes to place second, while Brooke Frederick won six holes and her group.
The Lady Cats host Effingham and Carbondale today before traveling to Centralia on Wednesday.
