Salem Golfers Sweep Dual MeetThe Salem Wildcat golf teams swept the dual meet yesterday, with each claiming a win over Teutopolis.
The Lady Cat golfers carded their first sub-200 score to open a season, beating T-Town 194-204. Megan Gallatin was the day's top golfer with a 42. Haley Gallatin scored a 47, while Morgan Thompson shot a 50 and Mallory Daniels finished with a 55. Emily Baer and Brooke Frederick shot a 57 and 67, respectively, though their scores were not added into the final.
Salem also had a medal winner on the boys' side. Robby Foreman's 38 edged out Teutopolis' Ryan Sandshafer to claim the day's best score as the Wildcats beat the Shoes 165-171. Joe Tolliver shot a 40. Sam Beavin carded a 43 and Connor Brooks finished with a 44. Nathan Williams' 46 and Will Fulkerson's 49 did not factor into the team scores.
The Salem High girls' golf team is in action today when they host Herrin at Salem Country Club. The boys have today of and host Mt. Vernon on Wednesday.
