Salem Jr Legion Improves To 8-0 With Sweep At Bluford

BLUFORD - The Salem Jr Legion improved to 8-0 on the season with a double header sweep on the road at Bluford.  Brendan Boles tossed a complete game shutout in a 13-0 opening win.  Riley Martin hit a grand slam in the third inning.  In the 2nd game, Dalton Courtright was just as good in an 11-0 win.  Salem has outscored their opponents 50-4 over their past 4 games and will host Effingham for a double header tonight at SCHS Field.

    Also today in Jr Legion play, Carlyle is at Breese Gray for a double header and Centralia plays two at Vandalia. 

In Senior Legion play…Mt Vernon and New Baden combined for 19 hits but also 12 errors.  In the end it was New Baden earning a 12-9 win. 

    Fairview Heights scored a run on a bases loaded single by Tanner Hudson to walk off with a 2-1 win over Trenton.

    Today on the senior legion schedule, Mt Vernon is at Aviston, Bluford plays 2 at Carlyle, New Baden is at Centralia and T-Town hosts Vandalia for a pair.
