Salem Lady Cats Offense Too Little, Too Late

BENTON - The Salem Lady Wildcats gave Benton a 5-run cushion to start the game, and despite 3 runs coming across in the final at-bat, they fell on the road to the Lady Rangers 5-3.

"It took too long for our bats to wake up," said head coach James Holsapple.

Mallory Daniels had Salem's only 2 hits heading into the final inning, and she was on deck when the final out was made in the 7th.

Daniels threw 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs off of 2 Salem errors, she gave up 11 hits and a walk.  Daniels was also the lone Salem Lady Wildcats with more than one hit.

The Lady Cats had the tying run at the plate when the final out was made.  They hit the road and will take on South Central on Thursday afternoon in St Peter.
