claiming the consolation championship.

The Lady Cougars opened the action with an 8-3 win over St.

Elmo. South Central jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and led 7-0

before St. Elmo got on the scoreboard in the third inning. Abby King earned the

win, allowing three runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out two. But

the were coming from all over the Lady Cougars’ line-up. King went 3-4 with

the fourth. The final runs in the game came for the Maroons, with one in the

sixth and one in the seventh. King allowed fourteen hits in taking the loss,

and South Central had just five hits. Cain went 2-4 with two doubles, two RBIs,

and a run scored. King had a double and three RBIs. Whitt scored three runs for

the Lady Cougars.
