Wildcats Put on Half Pads for First TimeThe Salem Wildcats continued fall practices Friday, exactly two weeks
ahead of the Shrine Game against Centralia.
Friday's practice was the first in half pads as Salem adjusts to the new IHSA acclimation
rules. Senior Seth Crain was ready to for more contact.
"It felt really good to just go out there and be able to hit people, fly
around, and just play some football. The weather is nice. I think we're doing
really well on defense and bringing it together on offense."
Senior lineman Chase Boozer explains where they have focused much of their
attention in the off-season.
"We've worked a lot on our tackling because it hasn't been that great in
the past, and really just our intensity on both defense and offense."
Salem started the day with a brief walk through before the first day of school.
The Wildcats have another practice scheduled for Saturday. Salem is off on Sunday.
