1973 Battle of the Sexes Tennis Match Under Scrutiny
(NEW YORK) -- Forty years after the so-called battle of the sexes, one man says the 1973 tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King may have been fixed. In an ESPN Outside the Lines exclusive, a former worker at a country club in Florida claims to have overheard two mob bosses say Riggs would throw the match to pay off a gambling debt.
Billie Jean King now calls the story ridiculous.
