9/11 Remains Identified as FDNY Firefighter
(NEW YORK) -- Nearly 12 years after the Sept. 11 attacks, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has identified another victim.
The remains of 37-year-old Jeffrey Walz were collected more than a decade ago during the original excavation at the World Trade Center, but only recently were retested and identified.
Walz was a lieutenant with the New York City Fire Department, one of 343 FDNY firefighters killed on 9/11.
