Texas Police Search for Man Who Went Missing with His Two Grandchildren
(CAROLLTON, Texas) -- Texas police joined the search Monday for a man and his two grandchildren who went missing on their way to the park last weekend.
William Jose Gomez, 57, and his two grandchildren, 7-year-old Marcus Gomez and 8-year-old Dominique Gomez, left home around 2 p.m. on Sunday to go to a park one block from their home, Carrollton Police Department spokeswoman Nicole Rodriguez told ABC News.
The children's father was sleeping that afternoon, because he works the night shift, Rodriguez said.
Hours later, when the three hadn't returned, police said the children's father and several other relatives had searched the area but could not locate them.
Rodriguez said authorities were alerted at 8:16 p.m. and have been searching for Gomez and his grandchildren since then but haven't found any traces of them in the area.
Gomez is believed to suffer from a medical condition that causes memory loss, Rodriguez said, and he left the house without his cellphone.
Police believe the grandfather may be driving a white Jeep Grand Cherokee with the license plate number DH1Y337.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Carrollton Police Department at 972-466-3333.
