Wildfires Force Over 20,000 Evacuations in Southern California

iStock/Thinkstock(LOS ANGELES) -- Firefighters are battling to save homes as wildfires and heat blanket Southern California.

Over 20,000 homes have been evacuated in San Diego County as the Bernardo Fire continues to burn.

The 700-acre blaze erupted Tuesday morning, fueled by soaring temperatures and canyons full of dry brush from months of drought.

Southern California temperatures are in the mid-90s, and the humidity level is as low as 6%. Temperatures are expected to be even higher on Wednesday and Thursday.

Texas is also facing wildfire evacuations. Hundreds of people have been evacuated after a wildfire burned more than 90 homes.
