A's Place INF Alberto Callaspo on 15-Day D-L
(SEATTLE) -- The Oakland Athletics placed infielder Alberto Callaspo on the 15-day disabled list with a Grade 2 right hamstring strain.
Callaspo pulled his hamstring in the second inning of Friday night’s 3-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners when he was running out a slow ground ball. He was immediately removed from the game for Nate Freiman.
In 83 games this season, Callaspo is batting .234 with three home runs and 31 RBIs.
To fill Callaspo’s spot on the roster, Oakland recalled infielder Andy Parrino from Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. In two games this season, he is hitting .167 (1-6) with one RBI and one walk.
