Blue Jays Place RHP Brandon Morrow on 60-Day D-L
(PITTSBURGH) -- The Toronto Blue Jays placed right-handed starting pitcher Brandon Morrow on the 60-day disabled list Saturday because of a torn tendon sheath in his right index finger. He’s expected to be sidelined for at least two months.
The 29-year-old Morrow suffered the injury during the fifth inning of Friday night’s 6-5 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates.
In six starts this season, Morrow has compiled a record of 1-2 with a 5.93 ERA. He has struck out 26 batters in 27 1-3 innings of work.
The Blue Jays recalled right-hander reliever Chad Jenkins from Triple-A Buffalo to take Morrow’s spot on the 25-man roster.
